UFO Guitarist To Guest On New DESTRUCTION Album
May 20, 2008UFO guitarist Vinnie Moore has contributed a few solos to the title track of the forthcoming DESTRUCTION album, "D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N." More details will be revealed soon.
DESTRUCTION entered Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark on April 21 with producer Jacob Hansen to begin recording "D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N." An August 29 European release is expected.
"Celebrating 25 years of DESTRUCTION is, of course, an additional motivation to record a new classic," DESTRUCTION frontman Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer previously stated. "But the band has never before been so well prepared for a recording, and the new material is very dynamic crashing straight in your face! All thrash maniacs can now look forward to a merciless and varied album which will put its predecessors in the shade! Beware!!"
There are also plans for a full DESTRUCTION DVD release later in the year all in the cause of celebrating one-quarter century of classic German thrash metal with all the faithful fans worldwide.
DESTRUCTION's "Thrash Anthems" album, a collection of reworked/re-recorded versions of the band's classic tracks, was released in January 2007 via AFM Records.
In a 2007 interview with Get Ready To Roll!, Vinnie Moore stated about his upcoming solo CD, "The album has 11 songs and is being mixed right now by Paul Northfield who also did the latest DREAM THEATER CD as well as many RUSH records such as 'Moving Pictures'. Van Romaine (of the STEVE MORSE BAND) played drums and JD DeServio (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY) played bass. Tim Lehner (ZEROESQUE) did the keyboards and I even have a guest named Hurricane Hank from the GEORGE THOROGOOD band playing sax on one tune. I think this is my best creative effort yet. It has taken a while because I have been on the road so much and I can't wait to get it out there for people to hear."
